Big Ben is the name by which it is known the great bell of the clock at the north side of the Palace of Westminster, the seat of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, in London, and by extension also popularly used to name the clock tower. Its official name was Tower2 Clock until June 26, 2012, in honor of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, it was decided that the tower would be called Elizabeth Tower (tower Isabel).
The clock tower houses the world's four largest faces, and is the third highest clock tower in the world. Celebrated its 150th anniversary on May 31, 2009, and has held various acts of commemoration. The tower was completed in 1858 and the clock became operational on September 7, 1859.
